248th Marine Corps Birthday Ball
On November 4th, 2023, John A. Lejeune Detachment #332 of the Marine Corps League celebrated the 248th birthday of our beloved Corps, at the Greenwich Road Holiday Inn. Our Guest Speaker was retired Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Ingraham. Attendees included family members and friends, active and reserve members of the Marine Corps, veterans of the Marine Corps, and members of other branches of our military. Of course, no Marine Corps birthday celebration would be complete without the traditional cake cutting ceremony, during which the oldest and youngest Marines are recognized by receiving the first slices of the birthday cake. This year, the oldest Marine was retired Sergeant Major Linford Moore, who was born in 1934, and the youngest Marine was Lance Corporal Gabriel Izquierdo-Rodriguiz, who is 19 years old.
